Week Commencing 17 September

Saturday

Phew !  Just got to the ground in time after a morning spent filming a television commercial for some shampoo or other - they only paying me £30,000 for it so didn't try too hard to look interested. They wanted the rest of the Extras in the advert aswell but got my agent to stop this as would have meant less money for me. His main bargaining tool for doing this was that lots of people don't have widescreen TV's yet and would be difficult to get Ratty in
the frame 'cos of this.
     Anyway, won the game pretty easily and taught those upstarts from Vauxhall a lesson. The forwards played well for their age and whilst I was the best again Liam can be captain as he likes phoning all the players agents each week to sort out the games etc. That twat Marsden was playing and had his usual nightmare. Why they don't just drop the freak I'll never know.
    Had to go out with the other players in the evening as it was Roy Duffin's 14th leaving do. Pretty sure he's not actually going anywhere but it's nice to keep the oldies involved. Don't they realise the sport has moved on and it's a young man's game now?
     Anyway, the evening out was pretty good fun and did involve the drinking of beer which I'm not normally into but had a few - can't remember getting home and Amelia was not best pleased, but told her The Extras are a team and sometimes we have to go out as a team. She told me that if the Press get a photo of The Extras drinking then they would have a field day and her position as No 1 Pop Star in Finland could be under threat.


Sunday

Met up with some of the players today for a drink as the captain Liam told me it is a good way to get rid of a hangover - He was celebrating winning £30 on a spread bet - I asked him why after he had lost £500 on a bet on Friday night but he didn't seem to hear me.
    We all met in The Engine and Tender which seemed a nice pub but the landlord kept asking us to leave as the paparazzi were getting in the way of the other guests - Terry Norford told him we were the only reason anyone came to his pub and besides, where were the f**king sandwiches.
    Ended up pretty pissed and phoned Amelia for a lift home but she slammed the phone down. Didn't feel too bad as Trigger said his girlfriend had done the same and he was locked out of the house again.
    Ray arrived a bit later and whilst he not playing as he has a bad shoulder, he still managed to drink a lot of beer and dance on the table wearing his wife's knickers.
    Andy Morgan was in there -said hello and his wife said Hi but I didn't recognise her from when I'd met her in the past - she looks a bit older and think she might have changed her name.
    Eventually we all went to an Indian restaurant and whilst I normally only go to celeb places it was fun. We got our meal for free as we are The Extras but pretty sure they might have to close down as we managed to eat an awful lot of food. Think Ratty might be anorexic as he ate more than humanly possible. Phoned Amelia again for a lift but no one in so had to stay at Steve Marsden's house - he should concentrate on finishing his decorating rather than going out all the time, What a saddo.

Monday

Had hangover so stayed in. Amelia came home whilst I in the shower and said she'd needed some time to think. I said -think about what?- but she didn't say. She's staying at her mother's. Has taken our daughter Maulden with her as said I might have to play squash with some of the Extras later. 

Tuesday

Got up late as still feel a bit rough from Sunday - Was late for training but The Boss said Ok as had obviously had been out on Sunday as had seen all the pictures in the tabloids on Monday-The picture of Jez snogging Riggs looked worse than it was and sure that it was a Mars bar in Jez's pocket. 

Wednesday and Thursday

Trained hard today as big game against Kettering on Saturday and all up for it. We have a few injury problems in the team but everyone thinks we can win and the papers are saying this is the best Extras team of all time-.think they could be right apart from the Jurassic Pack who frankly, just smell of wee.

Friday

Hard day of training at The Engine and Tender - all the team were there. Amelia still staying at her Mother's but spoke to some of the other players and some of their wives/girlfriends have gone as well so perhaps they're all going thru' some emotional crisis together. Sometimes think they unaware of how lucky they are to be with an Extra.
    Noticed today that a lot of girls hang around the pub trying to talk to the Extras - lucky I'm so happy with Amelia - hope she comes home soon.
