Week Commencing 23 September

Saturday

Lost our first game of the season !!!!
The boss was v unhappy and said that when we see the highlights on Sky we should feel embarrassed that the whole country could see how we lost a game we should have won. Were missing a few players thru various things but still upset at the first loss of the year. Put in some extra training tonight at The Engine withthe rest of the team - That freak Marsden came in but claimed he was ill and that's why he didn't play - probably just scared.

Phoned Amelia this morning to see if her and Maulden would come home but she says still needs time to think about us -  she must have had the TV on as could hear a man's voice in the background saying 'come back to bed, baby' - dunno what she was watching.

Got home about 2AM and started to watch the Living With Lions video but fell asleep about five minutes into it - is quite a good video to watch but the sequel Living With Extras has gone straight in at No 1 on the video charts. The reviews it got in the papers were excellent although some complained about the shower scene - apparently the sight of Toddy's rash and a full frontal from
Ratty gave children horrible nightmares, causing them to wake up screaming, crying 'no', over and over again.

Sunday

Got up quite early today as had to play squash against the new coach of one of the amateur teams at the club - kicked his kiwi arse round the court until he begged me to stop. (At least, I would have done but had a bit of a sore back so lost 9-0 9-0 9-0 9-0 9-0 but pretty sure he knew I would have won normally). Think he a bit jealous that he has to coach one of the lower teams but told him that everyone has to start somewhere and some of the Extras once turned out for his team, and look at us now.
After squash, met up with the rest of the team to discuss some new training techniques - the one I liked best was having a short after each pint to ensure maximum fitness.
Lots of ladies still hanging around The Engine - one of them said she wanted to 'bag herself an Extra'  -whatever the hell that means - and she asked me to go into the Ladies toilet with her. Told her I used the Gents like everyone else and if she's nervous about going to the loo alone then she should go with a friend. She must have taken my advice as saw her going in there with Ray Nix -
nice of him to keep her company.
Had quite a good time but wish that Liam would stop trying to sell me a fireplace. Don't understand why he's got so many.


Monday

Not much happened today as we all getting ready for our photo shoot tomorrow for the magazine Rugby World. They are doing a four page spread on us although I think some of the fatter guys from the scrum need a page each as they are v odd shapes to get on a square page. Coddy says he should be on the cover but the boss said he had more chance of being on the cover of Horse and Hound.
Still no sign of Amelia.

Tuesday

The photoshoot went well - the photographer said he really felt he had captured the essence of what a first class team like the Extras are all about. Why he made us wear dresses I'll never know but we looked OK and think we might wear them again some time.
After the shoot we trained hard and did some extra training at The Old Sun - Trigger must have trained really hard as he threw up everywhere - heard this can happen when finely tuned athletes push themselves too hard.

Wednesday and Thursday

Went shopping on Wednesday but didn't seem as much fun as normal so went training on Wed night and all day Thursday with the Team so can be v fit for Saturday - we are playing Leighton Buzzard. Liam said it was a big derby game but Trigger insisted that Derby weren't playing.

Friday

Stayed in all day to see if Amelia phoned  - she didn't so will have to go and see her next week to get her back at home where she belongs. I know she's an international pop star in Malta and Finland but think she could come home. Explained all this to Coddy at training on Friday night at The Engine but didn't listen to his advice as everyone knows he paid for sex on tour in Skegness.
Hope we win tomorrow.
