The Extras got into the festive spirit with a fine performance against a Stockwood 2nd team boasting no fewer than four of their first team.
Ampthill played out of their skins and were rewarded with a try to put them 5 – 0 in the lead after a few minutes. Stockward scored before the break to make the half time score 5 – 5.
The Extras tackled well and dominated in the forwards so much so that they caused the Luton side to opt for uncontested scrums when they suffered an injury in the pack.
It was only in the last 20 minutes that fitness started to show and the score-line widened in Stockwood's favour. Full credit to the Extras who never gave up despite having the odds stacked against them.
