Potton 10 - Ampthill Extras 21
After the Extras last encounter with Potton in which they lost 7 – 8, the team were well fired up for this return encounter. When Potton declared they only had eleven players, the visiting Extras lost a lot of their motivation. After lending Potton three players the game, although much deflated went ahead.
Simon Robinson in his new position of outside centre performed very well tackling anything that came near him. Along with Richard Beasley & Steve Marsden very little penetrated the Ampthill midfield.
Had the Extras played up to their potential the final score could have been a lot higher. As it was tries from Tom Gray, John Roberts and Andy Walker were enough to secure a victory against a disorganised whinging Potton.
