Ampthill Extras 38 – Huntingdon 10
Unfortunately the Extras’ reporter was not in town for this one. What is known is that Huntingdon turned up with only eleven players. Two were leant to them from the Extras’ ranks. Huntingdon played with thirteen players to the Extras’ fourteen.
Huntingdon were first to score. This was to be their only breach of the Extras’ line. After that tries were ran in by Tom Read, debutant John Kitchiner (2), Leigh Clark, Ian Jones and Ray Nix.
After the game, Rob Hill having played for the opposition and having a full speed Terry Nelson running at him quickly volunteered his decorating services to his wife for the week after.
