Ampthill Extras 55 – Wellingborough Old Grammarians 2nd XV 7

The OGs arrived late and with only twelve players. Ampthill leant the visitors three players but this in no way evened things up. Despite having a shortened hour long match, the Extras still managed to rack up nine tries against a side that saw very little ball and had very few chances.

The Extras could have probably not asked for more in this, their first game in just under a month, to set them up for a series of games against some of the toughest teams in the league.

There were tries for Nelson, Welton, Mardle, Griffith and Day with Browning and Roberts scoring two a piece.

Frenchman Nicholas Moulis made his Extras debut on the wing whilst his fellow countryman, also Nicholas, was on of a trio of Extras playing for the opposition.
